How does the Complete solution work?
A reel of foil passes through a cutting die, a ceramic punch is then driven down through the foil, cutting the required shape. The foil is held in place with a vacuum and the punch accurately places the foil onto the container. Our induction technology then heats and cools the foil at high-speed creating a super tight, super safe seal.
Why is it better than alternative solutions?
- The seal allows for use of a wide range of different materials which may be difficult to handle as pre-cut.
- Reel-fed machines typically allow for longer production runs between material changeover and lower unit cost.
- It can be very difficult to accurately place a small/thin foil on a component then transfer it to a sealing station, the Relco Punch & Seal removes this problem as we hold the foil on the cutting tool (using vacuum) then transfer it directly down and induction weld it in place without ever letting it go.
- Special applications can also be achieved using the Relco Punch & Seal for example placing and sealing foil onto a ledge inside a tube.
